Check if your file mime type is allowed in WordPress Media Library
Why is this service useful?
- Since version 5.0.1, WordPress is more strict with Media Library file uploads.
- If you want to upload some specific file formats, you’ll have to use a snippet or a plugin to add their mime type.
- But sometimes, file formats are misleading! For example, you may have .json files that doesn’t use application/json mime type. Also, some software like Adobe Illustrator doesn’t use the correct mime type.
Already 588 files analyzed and counting!
Here is an online service to check your file’s mime type. We’ll compare it with the current WordPress release list of allowed files types and it will provide a custom PHP snippet to allow your file upload to the WordPress media library if needed.
Absolutely no file will be stored on my server.
Your file will be handled as a tmp file and directly removed. There is no storage.
